Renaissance Health Service Corporation Contributes to the I.M. Sulzbacher Dental Clinic $5,000 donation will provide children living in homeless shelters with free dental care

OKEMOS, Mich., (June 5, 2007) — Renaissance Health Service Corporation (RHSC), a not-for-profit organization that specializes in affordable health care, dental benefits and employee benefit management services, recently donated $5,000 to the I.M. Sulzbacher Dental Clinic, a component of the I.M. Sulzbacher Center for the Homeless in Jacksonville, Fla.

The grant will help fund Healthy Smiles for Little People, a monthly event that will provide free dental care to children (ages five to 17) living in local homeless shelters. Services will include screenings, fillings, extractions, sealants, X-rays, cleanings, fluoride treatments and oral hygiene instruction and education.

“Tooth decay is the number one most prevalent chronic childhood disease, and it is also one of the most preventable,” said Dr. Philip Wenk, executive vice president of RHSC. “We’re proud to donate to programs like Healthy Smiles for Little People that will help ensure the overall health of homeless children in the Jacksonville community.”

“Experience proves that when children are exposed to good oral care early in life, they will carry those good habits into adulthood,” said Michael Cochran, vice president of health services at the I.M. Sulzbacher Center for the Homeless. “We’re grateful to Renaissance Health Service Corporation for contributing to our efforts to provide these children with healthy mouths and the tools they need to establish good oral health habits."
